Reading "Why I Write" by Terry Williams really displays how writing affects me. I see writing as a way of emptying my thoughts onto paper, whether I want to remember them or not. Writing is a place where I can vent and realize a better understanding of what's really going on.
Throughout this reading, I began to notice that she would use analogies here and there in which they could be compared and complement each other. Such as "I write because it belongs to the force of the moon: high tide, low tide." (pg 6) "I write because I because I believe it can create a path in darkness." (pg 7).
Also, I notice that Williams uses a repetitive "I write...." with many different ideas and variations in tone. Not all of the purposes of writing on intended for/toward positive outcomes. Writing is something that displays a person point of view, their uniqueness, qualities, feelings, ideas, thoughts and so on. Writing is it's own language.
